    Is there a part 2 to this? I don't see any link to a part 2 and I know others besides myself would like to see that video. You did a great job with this. Was there a cost savings doing it this way instead of using a telescoping antenna tower that has 3 or 4 sections and a hand or electric winch/hoist to raise and lower it?

    Just don't think the statement of you ONLY need ADSB when going in controlled air space is true, I'm not a CFI but my understanding is only class B need ADSB class C is controlled but you don't need ADSB

    Just be careful of the "system" you use as some of them don't hold up well to ethanol FREE Autogas. "I'll never use autofuel," you say, maybe not but all it takes it one accident & there goes the paint job or glue adhesion. Also many systems must have epoxy primers as the glues will lift over traditional varnish or different non epoxy paints. Look up the problems with this issue before making your choice. There are many sad & angry folks that found out the hard way. I know a couple of them, so research and read throughly.

    I was hoping to use one as an oil pump for a small air cooled engine to run oil for a cooler. Says 180°F but after seeing the white plastic valves ill keep looking. An all metal gear pump would be best but trying to keep the price down.. Thank you for the sacrifice and the time.

    Please do not discount the use of a glue like Gorilla glue. I have used this glue for laminates and have never been disappointed. It will foam out with squeeze out, but can be cut off with a sharp chisel or other type of cutter when cured.

    If all you can find for fasteners at hardware store are sheetrock screws, go somewhere else. Sheetrock screws are for hanging sheetrock and have zero place in woodworking operations, like airframe or cabinet construction. Why? Because they will snap (break) and be unacceptable.

    I have no plans to build an aircraft frame in this life, but ONE thing I learned many decades ago, never expect an end grain glue joint to last under any form of stress. Try to engineer a tongue and groove joint, with a form of gussets if possible.

  • @SnowingNapalm
    @SnowingNapalm 27 днів тому

    any excess abilities will not be a "too much" as long as you can correct for weight balancing and not exceed the structural integrity of the airframe

    Couple questions. 1. Why not use the flexible hosing in the entire aircraft for ease of installation, plus stronger than nylon? 2. Would it not be of the upmost importance to run the lines in such a way as to protect them from any possible snagging that may occur from, grass, rocks, or birds? For example: running them aft along the struts to protect from forward damage, not under or in front. Or Running them inside the aircraft as soon as possible vs running them under the aircraft? Does anyone have experience in trying to mitigate the potential issues that may arise with poor placement?

    Nope, the FIRST ultralight would be the one built to PART 103 specs AFTER the FAA placed 103 in the public register, anything built prior to that CANT be the first ultralight, cause ultralight vehicle didnt exist until it was published in the register. Whoever advertised or otherwise announced an ultralight on oct 4 , 1982 had the first ultralight

    I'm always a bit worried when someone say consult the manufacturers instruction while adding NO information. Hexavalent Chromium is extremely toxic and will seep into ground water polluting wells for miles around. Also carcinogenic among other things. Hydrofloric Acid is one of the most dangerous acids there are. Composed of Hydrogen and Flourine. Oxygen (atom #8) is often called ONE of the most dangerous chemicals because it oxidizes with carbon and more. But next on the atomic table (#9) is Fluorine with 7 free electrons, no other element has as many free to bind. As a result is reacts with almost everything. It's a solvent and soaks into/through your skin and will cause bone to fizz like Alka-seltzer. When exposed patient should be stripped down naked and placed in ice water bath untill life flight and paramedics arrive. Subject is transported to hospital, a chemical (if availible) can be injected to neutralize HF acid. Other treatments are amputation ahead of spread through bone. It's extreamly painful and typically results in death. I wouldn't touch the stuff personally, too much risk just to make a chuck of mettal pretty. My health/life is far more important. I've seen many vids showing high voltage amp repair with advice that will KILL you. And of course the pretty plexiglass lightning figures using old microwave oven transformers (very high voltage/amperage) have resulted in 50-60 deaths so far. Funny how people worry about everything EXCEPT whats actually important.

    Get you the handle off of a hand held weed eater and use that for your control on the stick. Then you could use the trigger setup on that for your throttle. I think that you would like that better.
